Techno Classica Essen

Next week the Techno Classica in Essen / GE will start. I can highly recommend that event. If anybody wants me to look for certain cars (mintgrün 11 CV, Des?) or things, let me know.

I'm flying to Germany on Saturday morning to be met by my brother at Dortmund airport. Going to the Nürburgring on Saturday to watch the ADAC Westfalenfahrt 4 Hour Race, then to Techno Classica at Essen all day on Sunday. Looking forward to a proper petrolhead weekend.

RSGulp,

make sure Westfalenfahrt will really take place. Could be cancelled due to snow. (wouldn´t be the first time up there at the Ring)

Hmmm.... was due to fly out to the show early this morning for the day.
Ticket sorted, alarm clock on.....then 11pm last night youngest son wakes up in lots of pain complaining of stomach pains.
3 hours later he's still in lots of pain and crying.... He fell asleep eventually but woke again at 3.30 crying. Took the decision at 4am that I really shouldn't go just in case it was something more serious.
So here I am at home today looking after youngest son who by 10am was running round the house, laughing etc, with the pain all but a distant memory []
It's always horrible to see your children in pain and not really knowing what could be wrong so I'm ever so glad he's feeling better but at the same time talk about bad timing Jack!!! [:D]

Just back from the show, great again.

Good to see Melvin, some info collected for the database, hope everybody who was there enjoyed it as much as me.

For those who weren´t there, try to make it next time, it´s worth a two day trip!

Rgds,

Hi All

Just back. For those of you who have LHD cars you would be amazed at the price being asked for anything that looked reasonable and not so reasonable.
However the silly prices that were being advised in the Coys Auction Catalogue were not being reached. While we watched not one car reached its reserve.

Great if you are an owner, but not so good if you are looking to buy.

Have fun

LHD [:)]

Of note though ... and my understanding is if something doesn't meet its' reserve the seller still pays the commission to the auction house on the reserve price.

Am I wrong ??

We need pics.....!!!

Edited to link to Paul's (Ferryman) excellent pics on DDK... [:)]
