These three 993RS were all on one dealers stand. Would you like yellow?.....

A few pictures for you from the giant classic car show in Germany.
Thomas Schmidt was there and had no less than 3 x 993GT2's on display (sorry, I didn't get any pics).

Here's another from a different dealer.

Wow!..tks for posting Ferryman, they do look like really nice examples, I am yet again slightly astonished at the prices asked for miles/km covered, I am sure I can put a dramatic halt to these rising figures if I were to put mine up for sale! I appreciate mileage isn't everything and condition and history is very important!

converted the average price of these three is £106,060.22, making around £25,000 over uk prices, mobile.de is the way to go.

Steve, please don't think I am disagreeing with you, but when you say UK prices.....what current UK prices? Are there any left for sale, this week? .......MickS? As ever the thing is supply/demand,,,these cars may well be optimistically priced at Essen,,, but the 911 RS market is behaving like prime real estate in a boom market,,,,,a decent example sells at one price, as there are few available, the next is offered at a higher level to try the market...if it sells,,,,then we know where the last price was...before the next higher offer! Over here we have to consider the weakness of the £ over the last 4-5 months,,but when lhd cars are priced in € in Germany, it is not a factor, clearly prices generally have risen....not sure how long this will go on for, ECB still likely to cut further resulting in cheaper funding in europe on one hand which may not help the € on the other? I am really trying to balance relative value trader principles vs those of a lifelong car enthusast....the beta on RS versions has gone mad! []

I was in Essen on sunday (last day).... most of the cars were very expensive and not sold(!). The italian dealer is offering the three 993 RS since last summer... .... My personal favorite: Mercedes 240 D (1973) - green/brown - 2K miles from new! - price: ?? None of the cars has been sold. You sould go to Essen to see a wide range of fantastic cars. Michael

Great shots Mike, good to see the 911 "hotrod" is still around....I remember buying models of those RS/Zakspeed Capris along with RS Porsche of course with my pocket money, I would love to see one on the metal! Interesting on the price front, in todays FT, they report that the Mei-Moses index which analyses and tracks art prices, reports a fall of 35% in Q1 '09 from prices in the previous quarter......it appears collectors have been selling off old masters to raise enough cash to buy an aircooled Porsche! [:D]

The prices are extraordinary. But perhaps 993RS prices are just moving up towards those of 72RS ....1st and last of aircooled RS...arguably the two best RS......similar numbers made....in long term perhaps they will align (hope so!) Reckon I'll be tracking my 964 Targa this year!

Like to agree Doc ,its all nuts, but the white one did go to H Kong AT £130 + and the blue rhd rs cs has been sold to Uk buyer he collects today , i know him 'cos he works round the corner, 2 rs lhd went thru end of 2007 at £100 + ....................its a market, crazy or not ..........................pro rata urs went at a healthy price after u drove and enjoyed it.......................................whether it lasts or they reach the 2.7 rs status remains to be seen ...............................comparison with the latter 1 like urs , touring £140/160 mint lightweight even rhd [ ie 1 of 19 ?] £225/275.....................AFAIK, JK still has the dearest one !

...there goes Vic talking prices up, he must have a couple at the back of the garage. Seriously amazing prices even after factoring in the 25% drop in sterling since the autumn. Kevin

B>>>>X Cooky boy , still polishing 1 old S ,1 Cup Car in viagara, common as muck [Bens got the other one] and YOU Ve missed both GT2 S again ............................plastic surgeon in Dusseldorf for ur old blue frined !
