Techno Classica Essen

Went in 2014 with Neil the Tipec RO and we raved about it. So in 2016 we went again this time with 15 others from the TIPEC club had a great time a couple of things to be prepared for is the walking you will walk for miles the event can take the full 3 days if you want to take time to see all the exhibits .The Porsche content will take a day alone .The first time we stayed in Dusseldorf about an 50min train ride this time in Essen it is only 10 mins away and all the train journeys are free to and from the show with your admission tickets .We stayed in the Ibis hotel 2 mins from the main station perfectly adequate especially with you son . If you want to do a bit off sight seeing after I would say Dusseldorf is the nicer city we did the city bus tour the first time .If you want any more tips etc get in touch .

https://www.eurowings.com/skysales/Services.aspx we flew with this carrier A320 direct Out Thursday back Mon £259 for 2 can get cheaper but most are 1 stop don't want that hassle

Thanks Brian I have booked with eurowings I was hoping to get out on the Thursday However Connor has Uni commitments so out Friday lunchtime and back Monday I have provisionally booked a hotel in Dusseldorf but will have a look at Essen did you order your admission tickets in advance or just pay at the door ?

Gary

Bought them in advance I believe are cheaper but the bonus is it gives you free rail travel to and from the event .Trains run every 25mins or so from Duss to Essen get off at Essen and take the low level train to Messe Essen about a 10 min journey not sure which platform just follow the swarms of pertolheads .
Is a busy show and the eating places are busy and best take a pack lunch in with you saves time and money, there is only so many times you can eat Brads .Oh take a good pair of comfortable shoes .
