Telegraph Top 10 British Drives

It's an interesting selection Erica and I am sure they will all be good fun. We have just spent a few days in the Scottish Borders and some of the roads in that area, and around Kielder, are superb. The club is building a library of good drives on the web site.

I would certainly be interested in building on what you have been doing to date. Post an outline route and a starting point / time where we could meet up and hand out the details, almost on a basis of 'I'm going, anyone want to join me?'. Ideally groups of no more than 5 or 6 cars seem to work best but, of course, different groups can set off separately.

I think at the moment ther would only be a small number of responses to a specific event. There is so much going on it is hard to avoid clashes at weekends. Some of us who are retired can get out in the week, but with more flexible and home working, that could be possible for others.

Many of these would be at fairly short notice so communication is important. In addition to this forum, we could use a WhatsApp, Signal or FaceBook closed group platform to connect those who subscribe to the idea.

What do you think?

Hi John,

It sounds good, I'm not sure how I'd go about posting routes - I can get a google map version of what I'm planning so I'm sure I could manage to get directions somehow...!

Any suggestions?

Would it be better if we had a chat or zoom to discuss further? I can DM you my number/email if that's easier...?

Hi Erica

Sorry to be slow in my response. Let me have a more thorough look before responding please. Definitely something worth pushing.

Hi John

Just wondered where I might find the library of good drives please As it would be quite interesting to have a look. Also as part of the drives, are there any suggestions for decent accommodation (particularly good overnight parking and maybe generous parking spaces)

Hello Paul,

There is a library of drives on the community page tab - under driving routes and it looks like there are some with suggestions for accommodation and food.

Thanks Erica
