Hi Guys
I have tried to get the phone working on the PCM 2 but to no avail.
Have put a working SIM card in but keeps coming up phone not available.
As far as I know all is connected.
Any help or advice would be grateful.

Phil

Hi Phil
I have the same problem got a new sim but the phone can only be used for emergensies, it shows the phone is connected but cannot be used for calls or text.
Is this the same as your fault and did you get your phone working.

steve

Look for option 666 on the options sticker under the bonnet, or in the maintenance booklet.

Also, what network is the SIM? I believe there are some that are not compatible.

Hi Richard
the sim is t-mobile
have got a list of numbers on the optional equip under wehicle id but nothing relating to the phone

Do you have (or can you borrow) an O2 or Voda SIM to try?

Look under the driver's seat (RHD car). If there is a silver box in a black frame bolted to the floor, then you have the phone module. If not, you haven't.

PCM1 was the main two networks, PCM2 is as far as I'm aware nearly all networks.
Like Richard says, option codes or failing that the silver box (or ring the OPC who will probably tell you from the chassis number[:)])

The emergency calls only message on new hand held phones occurs when you have no signal on your home UK network but have a signal from another provider. Perhaps your problem is similar in that the phone does not recognise T-mobile so you cannot make chargeable calls but detects a SIM card and a signal from another operator that you can use for emergencies.

Hi Guys
Have found a box under the drivers seat so it looks like im connected, will try an O2 sim tommorow.

steve

No silver box so no phone module.
Thanks for the help will have to think which way to go.

Regards

Phil

By the main 2 networks, do you mean O2 and Vodaphone? I've been meaning to buy a sim for my PCM1 and don't want to buy the wrong one.
Andy

Andrew, that correct..
I think it is down to the frequency, GSM1200 or 1800( or something) which vodaphone and O2 are.. - please note I'm no phone techy but its something along the lines of that..
Orange are different and I still remember the excitement of dual band phones!! [;)]
