Temperature gauge

I am after a bit of advice please. The temp gauge on my '98 C2 started playing up a few weeks ago - jumping around a bit on start up and then sticking either all the way round into the fuel gauge or somewhere towards the lower range. The car wasn't running hot. The temperature sensor has just been replaced and...........still the same problem! Is is possible to get the gauge repaired? If so where and how much? Thanks

I guess it is possible that it could be a bad connection in one of the instrument cluster connectors, so it might be worth checking those first. The gauge itself can be tested using a Porsche Tester, so that would be the next step. I don't know anyone who repairs the cluster, but I think you would find it best to find a used one. New ones are an arm and a leg. Just make sure you get one from exactly the same model, as there are several different variations.
