I found this in the technicl articles about the light on my guage flashing. Im sure its either option 1 or 2 as its quite slow, how do i check to see if the compartment blower if faulty and if it is how much is a replacement and can i do it myself?

Note
The temperature warning in point three is indicated if the conditions "engine coolant temperature too high" and "engine coolant level too low" are present simultaneously

Assuming that it is flashing slowly, and that the coolant level is correct, then it might be the coolant level sensor, the engine compartment temperature sensor, or the cooling fan. Your best bet would be to get a diagnostic check done by someone with a Porsche tester, who will be able to check all these. They can activate the fan and read the temperature sensor with the tester, but if one or the other is faulty, it should have recorded a fault. It will save a lot of grief and expense.

ok thanks ill check their website and see whos closest. When i went to centre gravity it came on as well, ( its only come on about 3 or 4 times since i bought the car in august) and chris noticed the prv in the engine bay had popped at least once due to the residue around it. Do you think that could be popping open at to low a pressure?

Edit, as my service is due in april ill wait till then and ask when i go.

Quite possibly. Do you find the temperature light flashing happens after a 'spirited drive'? Mine used to do that on occasions. Never really found out why, but it seemed to stop after I fitted a new coolant tank (which was pinholed) so maybe that was it. Or maybe the coolant cap might be blowing off. Does the part number on it end in 00 or 01? If so, I would definitely change it.

i'd have to check the part number does it say on the front of the valve. i was trying to find the words for when it came on and yes spirited covers it, i was coming onto a dual caridgeway from a slip road at 40 who can resist putting their foot down(i'd put a smile here but my phone wont scroll up in a message).

Yes - VERY prone to blowing off at too low a pressure. Try a new cap. Not expensive, and even if it doesn't do the trick it is good preventative maintenance.
