Temperature sensor constant running ??

My Targa has the factory climate control and therefore has the sensor in the right hand side of the unit .....
I knew there was an issue with my car b4 i bought it where if the car was left for a long time the battery would go flat .. Porsche tested the electronics along with the alternator and reported everything was ok .
What i have noticed is when i turn the car off and even lock it i can hear what seems to be the fan in the unit still running even when the car was standing locked for 5 mins ........
Anybody else have this issue or is it the norm ?? ..... maybe this points the finger to the flat bettery issue ........

I take it it is supposed to run all the time when the ignition is in stage 1 or 2

thx chaps new and confused 993 owner
