Tempremental Remote

My remote alarm /central locking on my 1991 Turbo 2 one day works and the next day doesn't. It makes the indicators flash but doesn't lock the car.

I have replaced the batteries and also swopped the remotes but the problem persists.

Does anybody have any idea where the fault may lie or is it something I may have to put up with?

Thanks

Jeremy

Jeremy,
sounds like the wiring having a bad connection. I would check all the wires comming from the brain unit for the alarm. To find it either look under the seats or trace wire from alarm siren back, it should not be that hard to find. Most of the connections on my alarm system are terminated under the drivers side dash. This is were i think the problem is, it is probable that one of the wires is either shorting out or a dodgy joint ( look for insulation tape/connectors).

This is just a guess without seeing the car it is hard to diagnose but this should give you a start.

Let me know how you get on.

Tim
