tesco 99RON

I've only heard about it but is anyone aware of or tried Tesco's 99RON fuel? Is Optimax going to be worth the extra? I know it claims to have cleaning agents.

Have heard that Tesco 99RON is augmented with ethanol, which is not so good for the high performance engine apparently

i wouldn't be surprised, and I'm not sure i really want to contribute to the mighty T's fortune at the moment anyway

Haven't tried it myself yet but my brother's used it in his 968 cab and noticed a definite improvement in response over the 97Ron stuff.
Would be interested to hear more about this. Should I advise him against using it any longer?

Andrew

Have been using it in my 997s for the last 1500 miles. I don't notice any real difference compared to Shell Optimax but for me Tesco is more convenient than my nearest Shell dealer and it is also cheaper than Optimax.

There is a thread entitled 'Super Unleaded' which covers some of the technical stuff. I seem to recall there was going to be a presentation from somebody from BP at one of the regional or register meetings but I don't recall seeing any output from that.
