Test Drive Plus: Tracks around Bagshot in Surry?

Hey guys,

I have a Test Drive Plus afternoon booked in for tomorrow in Bagshot Surrey. My letter says:

"You will be given the opportunity to drive the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Tiptronic in a number of different environments, allowing you to experience the dynamic handling characteristics of the car away from the public roads".

However, I just had a quick search around the Bagshot area for nearby tracks and I couldn't find any.

Anyone have a clue where I will be heading to after initially meeting up at a hotel in Bagshot??

Many thanks,

-Alex

PS: I'll write a report on the day upon my return [8|]

Chobham Test Track - as seen on many motoring programmes [8D]

Edit - I always get Cobham and Chobham mixed up [:D]

its the old DERA high-speed test track - entrance is off the Chobham to Egham road; once inside you cross the M3 (private bridge) to access the track. There are other facilites including a skid pan, brake test strip, incline (45 degrees and scary!) and so on.
Final straight is fast (142 in a 996 turbo) but watch the banked exit after it - there is a dip in the track surface just on your exit line - but do not try to steer round it - I saw the remains of a Boxster that tried that...

You mean this one right:

Thanks for the warning Jeff!

Sounds much like the same thing as my track day at Millbrook. Although I don't think the Alpine route at Millbrook got up to 45 degree slopes...hope I don't have to do a hill start! [;)]

Glad I'm not taking my own car again on the skid pan though. My whole left side tires are completely warn down on their edges from a few runs at that.

Should prove an interesting day though.

Thanks again
