Test Drive Plus

Today I had a test drive plus courtesy of my local OPC. It was originally booked for my partner who has a lifetime ambition to have a 911.

Anyway the car was a 911 C4S Tip Cabriolet and I was taken out by Richard Attwood the ex F1 Driver and Le Mans winner. We went up to Kemble airfield and unfortunately because of the amount of flying we were restricted to an area that mean we could only do standing start runs and emergancy stops at 80 mph. The car was superb, but I have to say I found it a little too cosseting.

I hope I don't sound a monster but I preferred my Boxster. So I either need a Boxster with a big engine or a 997 Turbo/GT3. Interestingly Richard said if Porsche were to give him a car his choice would be a 2.7 Boxster with a 5 Spd Box and 17" alloys.

Yes the bigger engined Porsches are just too quick for our roads (speed cameras etc.).

I have to say that having driven one that was well run in a couple of weeks ago I can see his point. It was very quick and very nimble unlike mine which feels very heavy (probably is with all the options that are on it).
