Just to say thank you to Greg and his team of helpers who put together a great line up of Porsche Club members cars on the tarmac and grass
at the IWM Duxford yesterday. A really good display of cars on show from the early air cooled up through the front runners with the water and onto the cars currently on sale at your Porsche Centre today. I didn't count but my guesstimate of around 100 car? Anyway, well done and thanks again. We look forward to seeing you all at other events during the coming season.

My thanks to the team behind the event.
Quite a few people chatted, but granted I'm from outside of the region.[;)]
The weather held out for the day which made all the difference.

First time I've been and there was plenty to see and do..

A few pictures from the event, sadly not that many of our display [:(]

Hello John and Gary,

Thank you for the kind words! From my point of view the day was a success too because:
1. It didn't rain (unlike previous years).
2. Although I had not assembled a team lots of R11 people mucked in and got us sorted out - thank you guys & girls.
3. The gazebo stayed on the ground.
4. We had more people than ever before - I think it was near 90 cars in total with around 80-83 at any one time.

Disappointments were that I did not get to meet everyone and also that I would like just once to have a picnic there without shivering!

I have told Stephen Mummery that I will do a brief article for the July PP which includes an spectacular aerial photo of our pitch. Gary you obviously have a good eye for a photo - I particularly like that cannon with the American Air Hangar - send me a 500kb-1mb copy and I will try to get it in the article.

All the best

...... i was revising for my last Photography exam.

Had you been there you could have been taking pictures rather than just reading about how to take them. [;)]

I know I am being flippant but how do you have an exam in photography these days? Isn't it a bit like having an exam in conception? You either produce a good picture or you don't. Obviously there are techniques which can be applied to produce a better picture but the end product is the picture.

Ok well i work for the local paper and most newspapers aross the world say you should have a NCTJ Qualification which is( National council for Teaching of Journalism) which comprises of 5 exams Law, Photographic Knowedge, Newspaper Practice and Caption writing when these four are done you go on to a final exam for which you have to produce a log book of your work a portfolio and three weeks pre to the exam they send you a topic of which you have to Produce a double page spread taking pictures and producing 200 words. you then had that in on the final exam which is a practical Exam yes where your taken to a situation and you have to Get a snatch Picture (A Subject is set up for you) and then you have to do a double page spread again Producing 4 photos to a template of which is given to you on the day allowing for spaces for over writing and adverts etc you then also have to interview the model your given (Of Which they have a script) and you have to get the important info out of them and then write 100 word story. bareing in mind this is done in a college with not many good back grounds, your limited to one prop and your limited to shots 72 for the whole morning and all has to be typed up on the computer and handed in with Examiners watching you all the time. also i forgot to mention there are up to 18 people doing this at the same time. the revising bit is for the right questions to ask and Style all papers run on a different style system and you have to make sure you know the NCTJ Style before going to the exam, dose this fill you in at all?

Thanks for that Chris. I now feel appropriately appraised.

I have every confidence future employers would be as, if not more, impressed with a bulging portfolio. Please feel free to exercise your trade in Porsche Post. Stephen Mummery will always welcome good articles.

By the way, I must congratulate you as you have obviously already mastered one of the principal skills of journalism.
