That black stuff?

I'm trying to track down a tin/can/tube of the black stuff that surrounds my rear clusters and waterproofs them. The o/s needs doing after a repair and water is getting into the boot by going under the boot seal then through the panel seam underneath.

It's not proper seam sealer because it doesn't set but just goes off a bit and stays like chewing gum, it's all over the Volvo so must just be a retro cars thing, good stuff really and probably deemed unnecessary by a load of accountants somewhere these days.
 
I got mine from my indie, wouldn't any bodyshop have it?

The stuff I was given was a wire with the black mastic stuff around it.
 
I was after something that doesn't act like glue like screen sealer. I've emailed Bert but i'm going to tour the spray shop suppliers tommorrow and might order some of that Dum Dum in any case.
