Thats better

Have been subconsciously struggling with my C2 driving experience.
It was awkward to move in slow traffic, the Motronic got confused occasionally, it was not pleasant to use.
I recently became aware that the throttle action was very slightly stiff to operate. If you wanted 1100rpm you may get 1150, or 1075, it was not butter smooth.
So today I greased the ball knuckles, cable and pivot points in the footwell. The results are amazing.

i find with my goofy feet, if I want 1100rpm, I get somewhere between 1000 and 2500 [:D]
964's are never at home in slow traffic, but as soon as the road clears all is forgotten and forgiven [:)]

Isn't it great when something a simple as a bit of lube put's it right.

Not wishing to change the your thread George .... have you had your geometry setup done yet?

Paul,
I have had it tracked, but not the full Centre Gravity standard and certainly not corner weighted. Those settings need to be done properly in the future.
It drives pretty good though. If I could post an image I would, perhaps I can send you one attached to an e-mail?
I am starting to like the car, - which is saying something when you've driven a 944t for 4 years. The big positive for the C2 is the torque at 1800rpm...... but the big positive on the '44T is the torque at 3500rpm.
I find the gear leaver is a bit short, (like a 3.2 had the lever a bit near the front of the car) so I intend to make it longer. The 964 rs has the longer lever (even though it adds a bit of weight[8|]).
Would I be correct in thinking I might one day prefer the driving behaviour of a 964 over a 3.2?
Parts I need are a Clutch Master & Slave Cylinder.
Have had fun sorting the heater, I think I understand it 30% now....
I am learning about the 964 model from you folk, its a great forum.
hope yours is going well too.

Fitted the Throttle Cable and Clutch Master Cylinder & Slave Cylinder. (101k miles)
The Clutch fluid was very dark Grey! I bled it thru and replaced with fresh fluid.
My theory is that the heat in the "Rear Tunnel" area causes ageing of the Slave Cylinbder seals which break down.
The engagement of the gears is far smoother, the old components were allowing drag presumably.

There is a remarkable improvement in the feel of the controls.
