From Mark Bennett:

The National Event 2011 was discussed at yesterdays PCGB Officials Conference. It's the 50th anniversary for the club so there are some ambitious plans:

Friday 2nd Sept 2011

Track event at Castle Coombe
The idea is to have an "inclusive" event that will allow all members to have a little track time at a smaller cost than the normal days.
Idea is to split into (for example) 1 hour chunks.

Moving on to Saturday 3rd Sept 2011

A twin-centre day. With Silverstone Porsche Driver Centre being the main centre of activity on the day, but also The Royal Agricultural College Cirencester coming in to play. Those who have finished playing at Silverstone can enjoy the rest of the day at the RAC (yes, get used to being confused with the motoring organisation - we are talking Royal Agricultural College!) or those that are not interested in Silverstone can just enjoy the RAC side of things.
In the evening is the usual "Gala Dinner" which will be at the RAC.

Sunday 4th Sept 2011

The main event at the Royal Agricultural College Cirencester.
The event grounds are spacious and we have the whole venue. Nice grassed areas, and we can use the quadrangles etc for display areas as well.
All the usual stuff, huge display from Porsche Cars, trade stands, Register Parking (if desired) and so on.

This has the potential to be a great weekend of activities. But to make it work we need:
Volunteers (of course) to help on the day(s)
Help with setting up and taking down on the days before and after.
Ideas - What would YOU like to see / do ? If you've got an idea then can you help arrange it?
Given the venues above there should be some good things that can be done.

Talk to your RO or RS, of post your ideas here. Let's be positive and make an event to remember for all the right reasons!

Thanks for the update Mel. Seems to cover all bases in terms of driving/social - but a shame it's so spread out geographically over the 3 days, I'm guessing most people would just pick one. Don't wish to be negative though maybe when we get more info it will all make sense!
