The 356 that never happened

Been a while since I posted anything here but when I have some Porsche news to share, where better!!

Back in early Autumn of last year I sold my beloved 944 cab and placed an order for a 356 speedster which was about to undergo restoration in Amsterdam. Now over 6 months of total frustration later, and a self promise to never buy a car from abroad again, I can tell you that I finally cancelled the order and convinced my credit card company to help me get my deposit back - which they did.

So having had no toy, or nothing to tinker with I had to find something. So let me introduce my new toy which actually found me. Not quite a 1958 speedster but more of a 1989 911 variant. This car needs a lot of TLC however I thought I would post some pictures really before I get started.

I hope you are all looking forward to the summer and your wonderful 944s. Keep up the great forum.

Best regards.....Frazer

p.s. Speedster forum a little quieter - to say the least and my skillin attaching photo links not good! Maybe have the forum police after me so apologies if photos attached wrongly.

Thanks! [:)]

That has the makings of a very nice car, to me it's the perfect 911. I've just been watching Ashes to Ashes and it's got me wondering whether I'd be better off with a really good SD1 or a ropey Quattro....I'm always going to be an '80s kind of guy.[&o]

Love it. Great colour combination, and these speedsters are so interesting, partly due to rarity, partly because they are quirky. Good stuff.
