Has anyone used The Accumate as advertised in Porsche Post as a maintenance system for the battery? Does it simply go from the mains to the cigarrete lighter without any wiring to the battery?
I would also like to know if anyone has used a system called Triple A Protection which for £125 seals the car paint and protects against acid rain salt colour fading bird acid etc and maintains a showroom shine.
Many thanks
Tony

If its similar to "Teflon Coating" which makes similar claims I can say save your hard earned money as there appears to be only one way your car can look and feel likes its just been polished and thats because it has :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

We had 2 black cars and one silver treated with the Teflon protection system but unlike Tony Bliar I can't claim nothing would stick to these cars [;)] Within a very short space of time the 2 black cars looked and felt in need of a good polish, obviously the silver car was much brighter looking but it still felt like it needed a waxing and hand car washing or rain water didn't run off the paintwork like the day it was done despite being told that just polished effect would last up to 3 years! []

For battery conditioning I use the system sold by OPC's circa £30+ which plugs into your lighter socket and keeps the battery set to jet at all times [8D]

Yes, save your money on the coating. Nothing beats regular use of a quality wax e.g. Zymol.
I think the Acumate comes with cigar lighter plug and croc clips to fix direct to battery. I also use the item supplied by OPC's, which seems to work very well. It only comes with the cigar lighter plug though, so the socket needs to be live when ignition key is out. Not a problem on 997's but definately is on older cars such as 3.2 Careera.

I use a "Carcoon" Battery conditioner, which seems to be a re-branded accumate.
Works great. [:)]
Mine uses a small loom which has a socket attached to it, at the other end it is permanently connected to the battery terminals. I just run the lead from the battery conditioner down behind the top of the front boot, and plug it in to the socket. That way the car is all locked up, no wires are trapped, and no windows have to be left open.

We both have a battery maintenance instrument which just plugs into the cigarette lighter and into the mains. It is brilliant and I bought them both from our OPC at a cost of around £85 each. The wiring to your cigarette lighter may have to be adjusted to be live when the engine is turned off, but this is only a small job. As I use my Porsche very infrequently, this has been invaluable and my battery never runs down.
