Just picked up my 997 C2S X51

Yum Yum - the sports exhaust is fab, the in gear pick up any gear any revs was surpirsing. As I am running in I can't say too much about full on perfromance but 3000 - 5000 revs in third with the sport button on and Windows down- Fabulous

Any one else?

C4S + X51,20mm lowered, LSD,Turbo wheels, 06 car, guards red..colour makes it feel faster!!..love the car, the way it looks, the sound of it is amazing, blipping the throttle when its cold produces a lovely rasp.
Very fast, but got used to it now!..might need to slap a couple of turbos on before long.
Handles incredibly too...driving the car really does make me feel more connected to the road than any other car has done.
Hate the ignition key and the fact I havent got a mute button on my steering wheel for the stereo...but other than that everthing is rosey in my garden!

[FONT=arial"]Yup, just back from the first 100 miles.

C4S, X51, short-shift etc. Guards Red/Black.

Such a sweet responsive engine ... Such a beautiful noise from the PSE ...
Such great handling ... I could go on ... (to misquote Carlos Santana)

Longer trip (London, Edinburgh, London) this weekend will no doubt reveal more.

Question - Extra radiator that comes as part of the X51 looks very vulnerable. sitting far forward at the front with a gaping hole in front of it. Porsche, of course, don't do any mesh or similar protection. Anyone know of such a thing from aftermarket suppliers?

Didnt even know there was an extra radiator with X51..is that really necessary for 26 more bhp?..shall inspect mine later!

Chris5150 - one of the reasons its so expensive is the extra parts inlcuidng a second radiator. Bear in mind the X51 upgrade is oumoing out 100bhp/litre (381PS on a 3.8 litre engine)

Allegedly for the from new upgrade they take the 10% highest performing engignes form the dyno and then do the upgrade. So in classic Prosche terms its at least 381PS and the increase is at least 26bhp........

Second radiator is a bit exsposed - So I second the request, if anyone knows after market sources

Went out for a proper blast after return from the OPC 3rd gear 3000rpm - 5000rpm with sports button on - the seat kicks you in the back, boy is it fast.

It feels at least as fast as the Boxster S on full song and the car hadn't even done 100 miles at the time. Whats it going to be like a) run in and b) from 5000 - 7600rpm?????? [:D][:D][:D]

I love the PSE the sound is just so intoxicating - I put the windows down, went unt er an M25 fly over and floored it - lovelly

Congratulation to you all, don't forget to update your information to the club and send Rob an email [;)]

As far as the radiators being venerable, there is one company that does some plastic inserts (will find the link), others have used Halfords plastic mesh cut to size..

Happy motoring and pleased to here the cars have so far met your expectations [:D]

Picked up my C2S on 1 September so I probably no longer qualify as a new owner but thought I would use (hijack?) this thread to check out my image posting (just registered with photobucket.com) but also to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every second I've spent in this car - even when its been parked in the garage!

Enjoy your cars and hope to see some of you on Sunday's drive & dine.

That's luv-ly...thing I'll go back out and polish mine !

Have wanted a 911 for over 30 years and have only just got mine. They are such awesome cars. Drove mine in anger for the first time today - road ruckled and earth stopped spinning for a moment.

Would love to have a go of one with the X51 pack.

Like you I've been after a 911 for a little over 30 years - mines still in the earlys tages of running in so I'll have to wait a while before I engage warp engines.

It could just be tinted spectacles but I think it gives a bit more feedback through the steering wheel than the current boxster 997S and just feels faster, even when keeping withint road speed limits - I had a blast on a tricky back road in the dry on the way back from work this afternoon.

Bumps and changes of camber although a national limit you need brave pills to do 45 - 50 with traffic coming the other way.

I was easilly carrying 10 miles an hour more into the tricky bits than the boxster in the 997 and it felt so planted. There was no oncoming trarffic but you need to keep to the white lines just in case. Not what I expected at all

I was editing the file to have a larger image when you tried to read it. It should work now

I went for the Sand Beige with the Bassalt Black, the only other option for colour to my mind was a Black interior - Like minds and all that, how do you find it, not too much black?

Fine colour choice there Tom.

I love the black on black. First black car that I've had - well chuffed with the Basalt Black.

All the best.

The only catch with Bassalt Black seems to be how it catches the sunlight when you try to take a picture of a clean car

Very nice car by the way Akis
