The detailing obsession of a man and his vauxhall astra!

I'd been told by Ash Wayman about this guy and just found this link today.

You have to question the guys sanity really but then we can't all like the same things and in a way I admire his dedication and it makes an interesting (if what occasionally amusing) read so I thought I would let you have a look if you haven't already heard of him and make your own mind up[:D]

This was on Pistonheads a while back, he's even done a section on detailing his Dyson [8|]

Found the link to the PH thread :ROFLMAO:

Good on him for doing what he wants and sharing it. Can't say I like most of the mods (he got rid of the white wheels ffs! []) but it clearly is his pride and joy.

That's really really scary! It's a new car....
I would loved to be a fly on the wall if he had decided to take it back because of the paint blob on the roof! Problem is that another will have other different faults - at least by this chaps standards.

yeah i read that a while a go when he posted it, couldn't believe it! I barely have the time or energy to put one coat of wax on, let alone the 50 odd that he put on

If this guy lived where I live he would be a suicde case.

Our Lane is regulary covered with Cow Poo and for two days a year there are contractors who muck spread on the fields and the lane is a running quagmire of sh**t.

I cannot begin to understand some people. If he had spent his time working for money instead of 'Detailing', then he could have afforded to buy a GT2 instead of an Astra!

When he sells the Astra it will only be worth 30 bob more than a standard one.

He did much the same to his previous Astra (the one he's traded in for the Nurburgring edition) a year or so ago - see HERE. I would laugh out loud, but the guy that does it with him (Dalton) specialises in detailing exotica for (something in the order of) £4k a day.... [&:]

This thread in turn prompted a p***-take thread which I find rather hilarious. [8D] [:D] ~ see Over Here. I particularly like some of the charts and gems such as
There was also a few patches of bobbling which felt like bobbles, but could not visibly see anything, other than my wife packing a suitcase and complaining that we never make love anymore... [:D]

Thanks, that's made my day!

Regarding the Cow Muck , as soon as you get home I would get the hose out and wash the underneath of your car and anywhere on the car that has been exposed to the Cow Muck , as it is really corrosive , I bought a lovely BMW from a farmer and the hole underneath of the car and all components exposed to the cow muck were blitz with rust due to the Shite !!! He also tried to sell me a lovely Mini Cooper his daughter owned from new with very few miles on the clock and again the sills and underneath the car were in a sorry state due to the Cow Muck , Beware of that shite !!!

£4k a DAY?

Flip me - I'm in the wrong job!

What sort of person spends four thousand pounds for a day of someone else's time, just to clean their car for them?

Whooosh! It's a strange old world out there, chaps.

Well that Astra will never see the Nurburgring, each to thier own but I fear for a guy who may reject a car
for a blemish in the paintwork you can't see[&:][&:][&:][&:]

I know a man who does...... and the £5K wash doesnt even include taking the wheels off and doing the backs of them properly... Proper scam!

I am definitely in the wrong line of business, I have decided.

Anyone want their car washed? Bargain rates - £3000 a time. I'll even take the wheels off and wash the backs of them. eMail me through the forum .... (:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:)
