The good the bad and the ugly

I am on my first Porsche and am absolutely delighted with it, and have become an avid reader of the forum. I have noticed that a lot of the postings are from the bearers of gloom and impending doom, surely there must be some owners who enjoy their reliable and easy to live with porsche cars. Assuming that there are some GOOD cars out there, then prospective owners might be heartened by reading some joyous posts, lest we frighten these prospective owners away. .... What about having a good news day only ! Image

Ive had my C4S a few months, love it, absolutely love it!!

To date no major issues, touch wood (!), people I speak to seem to think they are bullet proof.

It's not all negativity on here!

+1

No problems - lovely every moment in it!

Check out any of my running reports, like this one...

Thats more like it, The 996 in particular is a great car and as far as I know does not suffer any mor problems than any other Car / Make, and is no more expensive to run than any similar type. I searced for years to find my C2 Cab fiinished in Guards Red, I have only had the car since July, but apart from a silly nigle, it is GREAT !!!, and I look forward to many more days/months/years of pleasure from the excitement that is Porsche.

In nearly 2 years of ownership I've had a variocam solenoid leak that cost me less than £200 to replace. That's it.
Brilliant car, cheap as chips to run, what more can I ask for? [:)]

I've had 911s for 26 years (inc two 996s).

Never had a serious issue, always found Porsche GB, AG, and my OPC to be excellent, and keep buying the cars because, IMO, they are the best for purpose.

But, you have to remember, good news is no news.

I would agree! Great cars and in the long run, fairly good value for money. Example, guy buys a car for £25000, standard run of the mill exec car (bmw, merc audi etc) . After 3 years, worth only £11000, had it serviced yearly at a cost of say £300? Lost nearly £15000 in depreciation. Now buy a used 996 for £25000, worth in three years, say the same, £11000, service a bit dearer yearly £600? Lost nearly £16000? What would you rather have?? Maybe I have not described it properly, but buy a porsche 3 years old and it has taken the knock already but people don't see that.
