Hi Guys,

I don't know if this has already been mentioned (forgive me if so - new member alert!) but the first ever Great North Classic Car Show from Aston Workshop, Car Barn & Beamish Morgan is taking place this weekend at their fantastic premises at Beamish. The show will feature some excellent classic and exotic cars from around the globe - I know they have a '73 Carrera RS on display among other Porsches.

I will be there with our 430 Scuderia most of the day, and I know of a few friends presenting some really special pieces of kit, as well as the unfathomable stock that Aston Workshop have in their possession!

Tickets are only £3.00 per person. Food and drinks available from the Black Horse Pub also on site. Should be a great day.

Tickets available on https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-great-north-classic-car-show-tickets-43653739510

Hi Guys,

I know I posted about this even late and didn't get any response, but just wondering if anyone got the chance to attend this great event?

With over 4000 people in attendance, it's fair to say for a first attempt it was very well received, featuring some truly magnificent motor cars! Obviously the main focus being on the amazing Aston Workshop itself featuring a breathtaking "Aston Timeline" featuring cars from the 20's all the way up to the latest DB11. There were at least 2 of the iconic DB5 in attendance - surely one of the most beautiful and famous cars in the world.

As far as I am aware there were 2 x 911 2.7RS in attendance. We presented the Scuderia in the privateers section and it was very well received. It was a great mix of old and new cars, all of which were presented beautifully.

What I will say is that the clientele in attendance were exactly what you would want if displaying your car - courteous, understanding and respectful (as well as in control of wayward children!). I would have no doubts in attending next year.

I have spoken with my contacts there and they are already planning a 2 day event for next year, and would be more than happy for any PCGB members to submit their vehicles for consideration for the event. It is a great way to spend a day or two with like-minded people from all car backgrounds, with excellent catering facilities on site in the form of the Black Horse Pub, beer garden and the beautiful function marquee with various food stands inside, as well as another bar!

All in all a truly awesome event that is something the North East should be proud of, and I'm sure it will go from strength to strength.

Obviously it is too early to expect any interest just yet, but just letting everyone know about it as something slightly different to consider for next year! Take a look at my Instagram account for a few photos of the event....

Many Thanks, RK

From photos I have seen over the last few days this looked like a cracking event in its first year that will only go from strength to strength!

I know a number of friends who attended, unfortunatly I could not make it due to a couple of things I had on the same day or I certainly would have attend.

Looks like this was a great event.

Unfortunately, when we approached the organisers we were told there was no room for us as a Club, but they have our details for next year.

Hi Deb, that is unfortunate however it was more focused around the Aston Workshop/Beamish Morgan/Car Barn - I am sure the guys would have been more than happy to accommodate a few more privateers, failing that it was worth a spectator visit just to have a look at the other cars on display and enjoy the stunning premises they have there.

I will certainly put some groundwork in for next year, and I am sure knowing and being confident with the success of the first one they would be happy to put something in place to accommodate the club. Thanks.

Richard
