Guys is there any way to test the little electric motors that sit on top of the large plastic valves that direct the heat from rear of the car to the front

I know the passenger one is working as i can feel it and hear it but the drivers side is stuck open so I have taken it off and and removed the motor from the valve an the valve is not seized up or do i just need to buy a motor ??

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure but it may be possible to get these checked with one of the diagnostic tools. My local independent charges about £30 to interigate the system. I'm sure others will come up with a more cost effective DIY alternative.

I don't know the answer either, and I was wondering if my fault may be the same as yours. I don't get any hot/cold air at all through the passenger vents-window or left centre. I read the various fix options for the servos under the bonnet which don't seem to give the same fault. So looking forward to an answer from the people in the know.

I too am getting very little airflow through the side vents. The footwells and centre vents work fine, so I'd like to know what I can do to fix them.

So these are the symptoms that I experienced:- Car up to normal temp with the a/c off and the temperature dial set to cold( blue dot ) the lower vent on drivers side was blowing very hot air, yet the passenger side was cold and even with the AC on it was exactly the same so i removed the side panels in each footwell. The drivers side is held in by 2 allen bolts that form part of the hood release and the passenger side panel has just 2 phillips screws

Then you can see the heating ducts with a large plastic valve attached by jubilee clips
To test the large plastic valves, I had the ignition on and turned the heat dial from cold to hot while placing my hand on the body of the valve, you can feel it move and hear the motor opening and closing the valve
It is a very easy thing to check

I have ordered a new electric motor from local OPC £80 ish which is a bargain compared to some of the specialist shops .I wil post some pics when I refit it (10 min job)
