Octane Magazine July page 154 Dealer News. Its time to grab a 964rs! "They can be bought for a little over £30.000 and will out run a 2.7" But minters changing hands for up to £60,000.00.
The secret is out!

I've only seen the Gmund car at a little over £30k. All the others are £39k+. Are there any bargain buys out there or is it that dealers tempt cars out of desperate owners with cash but at less than market value?

Yes bargains for the dealers when they offer you sweet FA for your car! No bargains when you come to buy off them however![:(]
.... I'm too honest to be a car dealer.[:)]

According to the May 2008 annual review of the French/German market in Flat 6 (French magazine), the 964RS has gained 6000 euros over one year (they use perfect condition as reference).

Concours condition 70,000 euros; perfect 60,000; good 45,000; average 37,000.
Last year
Concours condition 61,000 euros; perfect 54,000; good 45,000; average 37,000.

They state that the 964 RS "can only appreciate"

For the 993 RS
Perfect 85,000; Good 76,000
Last year
Perfect 81,000; Good 72,000

So, the 964 RS has appreciated more than the 993 RS... Of course, we all know why [;)]

The old chestnut ..... keep your cars certainly better than property at the moment although you can't rent out your RS, or can you[:(]

Would have been interesting to see the N-GT figures, think Tomas just sold one for about Euro 90,000 ...... [:)]

I'll rent your car out for Donington Des, say its worth £60k to give you benefit of doubt [:)], and a typical rental yield would be 5% ie £3k /year.
Say a 'year' is 12 trackdays utilisation , this equates to £250/day. So I'll pay £250.
Bring it to track on 8 June , no VAT, no book entries [;)]

PS I notice from PhilRS's Flat 6 figures that 'average' cars have NOT appreciated , so track mules are not well positioned..... or are they ??

John, you can peddle my car anytime FOC ...... we have to also look at the 20% depriciation of the £ so ALL LHD cars have made this on exchange rates alone ....

A very fair point, but what is average ? I think many of the cars we own are well above this -- but it is a fact that the Gmund car has not sold even though it seems cheap.

For a 16 year old car, I should say that is average !

So in Europe one has both a 10% value increase plus a 20% currency adjustment ?
