The new Black (paint code A1)

Anyone had paint work on their black 993 recently (paint code A1)?

Visited my paint shop today to get an estimate to respray my rear PU, happy with the price and booked in for next week, but now he can't find the paint colour in his system.

He sprayed one of my doors nearly three years ago so I could not understand this, but it seems he has now changed to water-based-paint and everything has changed.

Porsche A1 just does not exist in his new system. His book from 3 years ago gave same mix for Porsche paint A1 as Porsche paint O41 and O41 exist in his new book - so at first he was just going to use that. But then we realised the new book has two very slightly different mixes for O41[] (there is "O41 1980" and "O41 2004")

Can any one shed any light on this?

Ask Peter O Mally at Easter /Western body shop or an official Porsche body shop Hardie Ingles

Is it Basalt black Mark? If so Peter will know the details as mine is in Eastern Western just now getting the rusty window surround sorted.

Hope to get it back tomorrow, hooray [:D] [:D] [:D]

PS, I thought Porsche were using water based paint back in '95?

PPS It's Mitchell Inglis Brian
