The new turbo s on collection

Initially a bit disappointed.
No denying the awesome performance and stunning capabilities, but it followed a GT3 and, at first acquaintance, I missed the tactile sensations, noise and feedback.
Five months on, I couldn't be happier. Learnt its subtlties and now find it much more engaging, and it has improved with miles. Comfort is amazing for a 911, but still find the performance astonishing [:-].
It's not the best '911' - that's still the GT3 IMO - new Turbo more of a 'junior Veyron' with the added bonus of two useful seats in the back [].

Only done 80 miles in it so far as was busy on Saturday when it was picked up and just had two hours on Sunday spare, so will get back in next weekend, cant wait, far too quick on current roads in this weather.
Yeah, common as........snow! Good camouflage this weather though[]ORIGINAL: rholyoake
Looks like we've got enough new white turbo S's out on the road to start our own club!![]
Well, I did 1200 miles the first weekend I had it so I considered it pretty much run in at the end of that - especially trying to keep up with GaryW through France[]ORIGINAL: rholyoake
How much attention did you pay to running your one in? Was it just toooo tempting to reach for launch control!
Probably had about 1500 before I did the first launch.......[] Still hasn't used a drop of oil in nearly 8000 which compares very favourably to the previous Gen 2 C2S.
However, the "running in" debate itself will run and run........

Just covered 650 miles in total. Though car's been in the garage most of the time it's accumulated masses of dirt and grunge.
Paying attention to running in & got the launch control fix at the Driver Experience session at Porche's Silverstone setting a couple of weekends ago. I've never been in a car as quick off the mark as that. A fantastic afternoon. Now realise how capable the car is.
Till now, been a manual box advocate and shamefully didn't know that if the throttle's blipped when in auto mode it drops down to a really useful overtaking gear. Only realised that when the driving consultant told me at Silverstone. Really novel that.
A staggering car.
