The Next 924?

I've heard talk of a new model in the next few years which will be aimed below the Boxster range.

We have already seen the 928 revisited as Panamera so what do we know about this new car?
Could it echo the 924 in some ways - front engined entry level and a lot of fun? [:)]

Paul, I think the rumour you are referring to is what everyone calls the Baby Boxster.

As the 991, next gen Boxster and Cayman are all getting bigger VAG are using the same basic chassis across VW, Audi & Porsche with different drive trains and shells.

VW Bluesport, Audi R4, Porsche?

Rumours of diesel or petrol option on the VW, straight 4 turbo on the Audi and horizontally opposed 4 pot twin turbo in the Porsche which is due out in 2014.

No 4 cylinder, horizontally opposed unitary construction engine with twin turbos.

If they ever build another front engine car it should be interesting, apart from the Panamera which is too wide for uk roads and single width garages!

I've long considered the Boxster as history repeating itself/the successor to the 924... A budget Porsche, saviour of the company, leading to a mid-range product - 944/Cayman.

Id heard talk of a forced induction three cylinder. Hopefully not on one of the cross marque platforms though, as only Porsche drive the right end...
