THE PORSCHE CLUB GB - REGION 7 YORKSHIRE - NORTH WEST 100 - SOCIAL RUN

The North West 100 is a social run of approximately 100 miles* in the north west of our region and Lancashire, through some of the greatest scenery and driving roads in England.
This year the event will start from Arthur’s Cafe, Ladywood Lakes, Sands Lane, Mirfield WF14 8HJ where an enjoyable Sunday Brekki was held earlier this year. The management are delighted that we are starting the North West 100 from there and they are reserving a parking area and an outside seating area for us, (cover available if the weather is inclement). Tea, coffee and more etc.will be available from Winnie’s Outdoor Kitchen. Full breakfasts are available but must be booked in advance directly with the Arthur’s https://arthurs-cafe.co.uk/
Starting from Mirfield (easily accessible from M1 and M62) will enable the use of roads not previously used for this run.
The routes through The Forest of Bowland will follow custom Google Maps, a formula that has worked very well for R7. Both driver and passenger can enjoy the drive and the scenery rather than the navigator having their head buried in maps.
This is a day to enjoy a great time with like minded people in superb scenery ending with everyone gathering for food and chat.
In accordance with MSA rules there are no time limits or competitive elements nor is there compulsion to follow the suggested routes in order to allow participants to explore as they wish.
By popular demand the routes will once again converge on Bridge House Tea Rooms, Wray, Lancashire LA2 8QP where our cars will be displayed. Delicious BBQ and tearoom food and drink will be available and we can enjoy socialising. Should the weather be inclement there will be a large covered area for our use.
Bridge House really is a great car club friendly location where we will be warmly welcomed by John, Aleisha, their family and staff from 1.30pm onwards.
Partisipants can choose one of three routes offering different road types and length of drive. N.B. We discourage driving in convoy on country lanes.
*The approximately 100 mile run itself ends at Bridge House Tea Rooms, however suggested routes in the general direction of Wetherby will be supplied. Please ensure that you have sufficient fuel for the full distance. Members are free to leave Bridge House whenever they wish.
The event is only open to drivers who are current members of Porsche Club GB who have signed up for the event by emailing their details in advance as requested below. All entrants will receive an email response from me. You cannot just turn up at the start and participate.
If you are a new member or are new to this sort of event please tell me when emailing and I’ll ensure that you are looked after by pairing you with an experienced crew.

10 The use of Mitex General walkie talkies enhances the enjoyment of runs for many by enabling communication between cars.
a, Do you have your own? If you have a pair are you willing to loan one to a friend?
b, R7 have a few which can be borrowed for the run on a first come, first served basis. Would you like to borrow one for the run?
A list of participants will be shared as it helps participants to identify who is who and encourages people to chat, an important part of an event like the NW100. If you do not want this information to be shared please tell me. Phone numbers and email addresses will not be shared.
Email will be used to provide communicate with entrants.
Please do not post any potentially sensitive information on the Forum which anyone to read.
Unlike many car clubs we do not charge an entry fee for events like this, however we like to raise money for charities. On this occasion we would like to raise money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and we invite members to put £10 per car or whatever you can afford into a cash collection on the day. That way we avoid the club having to pay VAT on the charity donations. Your donation will be appreciated.
We never know when we or our loved ones may need the YAA.
