The original twelve, how many still out there?

I found out by a fellow poster who owns a speed yellow 993 on Pistonheads that we both own one of the first twelve 993s that were registered by Porsche UK all on the 7th December 1993.

We believe that these first twelve were the launch cars for the 993 in the UK at a venue near Leeds.

Has anyone else got a 993 registered on that date (Its shown on the inside front cover of the maintenance schedule), and if so what specification their car is.

I would love to find out anymore details on the launch, especially any photographs and/or write-ups of the event.

If its of interest, the specification of mine is as follows.

Colour Midnight Blue Metallic,
Interior Classic grey sport seats with grey and black dashboard with blue carpets
Transmission Manual
Options/extras Climate control.

The bizarre thing about my 993 is that it has a service book for a 964. The book seems the original, with correct matching sticker in the inside front cover, fully stamped up each year at the same dealer Parker & Parker Kendal who know the car obviously very well. Yet Tom (The owner of the yellow one) service book is for a 993. Any ideas why this might be?

Many thanks, Warren

Mine's quite an early car - delivered, according to the replacement service book, on 27th January 1994.

All of the service stamps seem original though, so I assume the book was lost/replaced early in the car's life.

The original number plates are from Lancaster Cambridge.
