Thanks for the excellent advice from everyone ; this site is so useful.
I can confirm that I allowed my heart to rule my head; having test drove the Gen 2 I fell in love with the PDK ; I drove a few one year old cars but I just couldn't get so excited about them having driven the PDK first. I probably did it the wrong way round, and had I never have got in the Gen 2 I would have been more than delighted with the used car!
Anyway, I recognise it is a complete waste of money, but hey - I work bloody hard and life is too short to worry. So I have paid my 3k deposit and the new car is on its way.............

I am so excited!

That's the spirit, enjoying some of the finer things in life is always worth paying for, so might as well do it if you have the chance !!
If you haven't already done this I'd be looking at the factory collection option, the new museum might also be finished later this year I think which should be a must see.

A good way to go into Porsche ownership [:)] small things in life etc...

Another recommendation for doing the factory collection, worth every penny and makes buying a new Porsche another experience altogether..

Having just returned from my Silverstone experience in the PDK version, having had a 2s sport chrono before, its an amazing leap forward so its a no brainer as they say, a new one. Must have the BOSE, much better than the version I currently have.

You blokes are so lucky having the factory so close. It will be an opportunity not to be missed to collect it from the door. How cool is that!

True [;)] but I'm sure you have quite a few bonuses where you are...[;)]

Quite a few Americans Factory collect, they then tour Europe with the 10 days of insurance that comes with the car and then ship it back off home..
