There's almost always evidence of tinkering, cheap repairs or something a miss on a 10 year old car. This did make me sigh somewhat...

:rolleyes: lovely repair of the boot release cable with huge amounts of fraying and I was only trying to find a noise (sounds like a golf ball being potted or shaken in a plastic cup)

Does anyone know what this wire is....

An aerial maybe? There is also another cable that goes off into the rear wheel arch but I've no idea where it goes. I couldn't find a manual boot release in the owners manual? I did give this secondary cable a pull and ended up with around a foot of extra cable in my hand before I stopped tugging. I don't believe it's linked to anything any more?
