The roof "Chop" & cleaning

[:)] Having only just purchased my Boxster I just found out about the "chop" when dropping the roof.
[;)]So my question is what do you use to clean/lubricate the plastic back window ???.

I have used the zymol kit with good results, see www.vertar.com for details; it's relatively expensive and I am sure there are less costly products which do as good a job. if you do a site search you will probably find more as this topic has been discussed before.
enjoy the new wheels [:D]

BMW sell a good a plastic screen polish at a very reasonable price that's work very well. Capable of restoring a little suppleness, removing "clouding" and minor scratches.

Cabrio Heckscheiben-Reiniger Pt No81 22 9 407 655 IIRC around £7.00

I have just took my hard top off and when I put the roof up, there are a couple of lines that need polishing out. They say prevention is better than cure and I seem to remember that I saw someone putting down a roof of a BMW Z3 with some kind of material on the plastic window, anyone got any ideas of what this might have been and if there is something like this available for the Boxster.

If you are putting the roof down on the Boxster for any length of time, you are supposed to use a so-called "fleece" (actually a piece of felt) to stop the 2 halves of the fodlded plastic rubbing/chafing against each other.
This should have come with the Hardtop. I actually don't have the hardtop but I bought a fleece from Porsche for when I am putting the top down when it is not scrupulously clean (to prevent any grit being rubbed between the plastic). It cost too much from Porsche, so you might want to find a bit of felt or similar from elsewhere and cut to fit.
