The sim card holder on my porsche 996 turbo (2003) will not stay closed. It will push back in,but will not stay in the closed position .Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I contacted Porsche but they suggested changing the whole unit for almost 1000 pounds!

Surely its just a catch that needs fixing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Richard,

Seems complicated to do myself, ill call porsche and see if they can do it. No reason as to why they should be charging 1000, when the tray could be replaced.

I contacted Porsche nottingham and they state that they are not aware of a modification for the tray, only the front trim of the tray.

They will look into this if there is a part number, would be great if you can tell me this.

I'm not surprised you got that response, as they are reluctant to do anything that isn't 'in the book'. The Becker Part Number is shown on the Renntech thread, and as far as I know that is the only way to fix it other than a complete new unit from Porsche.
