Hi everyone - at short notice

The Summer Solstice, Sun Sea and S.. Run - sorry there are too many S's in the title. There is no Sea involved only water !.

Wednesday 22 June is the day after the Summer Solstice (longest day) and should be light until around 10.00pm.

Why not come along and celebrate the Summer Solstice and watch the sun set over the beautiful Monsall Dale in the Derbyshire Peak District National Park.

The format of the evening will be -

7.00 to 7.30 pm Meet at Woodall Services (South) M1

7.30pm leave for scenic drive out into Derbyshire - Bakewell, Ashbourne etc.

9.30 pm approx. - Arrive at Monsall Dale, have a drink in the pub, admire the view and setting sun.

10.30pm depart for home and our beds !

Happy motoring - Randolph Coward

PS - we could also form a circle with the cars and dance round them as the sun sets - only joking.

Hi Randolph,

Irene and I plan to be there at Woodhall Services to meet up with everyone.Hopefully with the hood down to enjoy the sun.
Looking forward to it

Regards
Adam

Randolph,

Is the pub we are aiming for The Monsall Dale Inn? A few of us are planning to join you but thought of getting to the Inn for an earlier bite to eat.

Hi -

Yes the pub is the Monsall Dale Inn.

See you there if you are not able to make the run.

Hi

Sorry, but I'm a bit confused; (happens easily!!!). I've never heard of Monsall Dale or the Monsall Dale Inn, but I do know Monsall Head and the Monsall Head Hotel. Are they one and the same place, or am I getting myself totally lost? I'm not sure I can make the M1 meet, but would love to try and get to the pub, so any directions would be gratefully received!

Many thanks

Oliver J. Thomas

Hi Randolph

Aiming to be at Woodall Services Southbound by about 7.15. Looking forward to seeing eveyone.

Regards

Hi Oliver -

Monsall Head overlooks Monsall Dale.

I am not sure the exact name of pub - it could be Monsall Head Hotel.

Monsall Head / Dale is between Ashford in the Water and Little Longstone - B6465 I think.

See you on Wednesday.

Happy motoring - Randolph Coward

Hi Mark -

See you tonight.

Its so hot ! - the cars should enjoy a treat. We are going to take them for 'paddle' in the water tonight.

Happy motoring - Randolph Coward
