The Strangest Places

Hello, just back from my holidays so got a couple of weeks of catching up to do.

I thought I would get back into the swing by starting a new thread. I have been to the red hot climes of Crete and having flogged a LHD Hyundai Accent for two weeks and done over 1300km in that time boy was I glad to get back into the Boxster!! I have to say however, the Greeks can drive, none of this nancy boy waiting for a gap to pass, you just drive straight down the middle double white lines or not and if someone is already overtaking, you just overtake them as well, simple!

Having scrutinised the cars in Crete, I only managed to find three POrsches, a rather sad dented 993, a dust covered Boxster 2.7 by the side of the road looking like it had crossed the Sahara Desert and a brand new black Boxster S on a beach! (all greek plates) The beach was reached via a very steep and rough stone pot holed track mad or brave you decide, perhaps we don' t need the Cayenne after all just an off-road Boxster.

So my question, what is the most extreme, faraway or strangest place you have come across a Porsche? (Ashby-de-la-Zouch excluded)

Not particularly strange, but I saw a 911 (964 I think) on the motorway 10 miles from Narita (Tokyo) airport.
I keep looking for them in Taiwan, but although there are all variants and ages of Merc S class, along with BMW 5 and 7 series, Audi' s etc. I have seen no Porsche' s. You do see some dubious Japanese fair though (including the marvellously named Nissan Cedric).
