I do visit the other forums on PCGB from time to time , but keep coming back to this one , at all hours of the day.

To try and understand this obsessive behaviour , I did a quick survey of the most popular subjects on the SPORTING Porsche fora.......namely GT3 , 993RS , and 964RS.

Results :

GT3 - the newest latest and greatest 'Generation 2 " 997 cars

993RS - the value of members cars

964RS - Spa Spa Spa

Any psychologists in the house ? [:D]

YES and they are responsible for my SPA addiction.

You know who you are. [;)]

Don't worry Charles, says Dr. Philippe. Prof. Schyns is also responsible for my own SPA addiction.

It looks like the three of us are seriously contagious.

Serious post-Spa depression setting in now. [:(]

I thought Donington and Oulton were great but Spa is awesome.

Other track days will not be the same for me.

Just have to get my fix looking at Mobil.de until the next track day!

Hi Paul , thought you really got stuck into it when on track , maybe you have Belgian blood in your veins [;)]

Hopefully your car will get sorted out and business will pick up in the company jet market , so you can go back to the madness next year.

BTW came across another monkey bum today circulating at Goodwood , didn't get the name of the owner , probably a southerner tho' .....it was running MPSCs but not flat out. In fact considerably slower than a black 964C2 on Toyos that was also there being driven by 'LuckyP '. I was really aggravated that I had no car to drive , weather was perfect , track was almost empty , would have only been £100 per car !!! It was a day for early cars , there were no GT3s or GT2s , a lone 993RS driven by Nick Moss , a 2.7 RS , an RSR Jason type California special, a 3.2 Carrera , a 2.4T , a SWB 2.0S , and a super lightweight ST Nick Moss creation in turquoise that looked like it would give the noise testers something to chew on.

I'm pondering whether to wedge in a PCF day June 24 having collected my car the day before - is that tempting fate ???

It would be rude not to!! [:D] Neil and Anne awaiting your booking!![;)]

Here I am having withdrawal symptoms and you tease with another day at Spa! It's on a Wednesday and worst case for me for a trip over. You should go if you are at Olav's, anyhow, collecting your car. Looks a great day with 5 Fun sessions!

John,

Just wait for the forecast and rock up on the day. They take cash and Francis will make you most welcome.

Normally after lunch they combine series so you get even more track time. Would love to join you but it is not going to happen in June!

Plan to do Sept.

Well , I've got a Castle Combe booking on 26 June , still musing on the June 24 PCF Spa day . Have booked the B&B anyway as once I've paid Olav's bill I might need a bit of a rest before heading for Blighty.

I must say I am worried by the outbreak of paint blisters on the carbon fibre bonnets of 996GT3RS's .....my thoughts are with the unfortunate owners , just think of the stress this must cause on top of the possibility of getting chipped at trackdays [;)]

Maybe that´s where the kettle blows its whistle... too much steam for the paint?

I think these sorts of issues were engineered into the cars by the factory in an effort to make the digital ownership experience more analogue and characterful.

Allegedly the leaves in the radiator issue was a clever idea by a designer that owned a Morris ital and liked greasing trunnions on a regular basis . Apparently he liked the body stickers on the Allagro Equipe so much he took his inspiration for the tasteful 996 RS stickers too.

Apparently on the 998 GT3 there is a plan to liaise with the Rover SD1 design team to engineer in some water leaks and paint issues for that real "old classic from new feel".

But we don't all go out and buy Alfa Romeo's because we want them to go wrong ?

We buy Porsche because no matter how hard we work them (we do maintain them well) --- in general they do not break down, despite occasional severe provocation !

On the Sunday at Spa Paul and I ran both Sport and Fun over four sessions with just a 45 min break --- for refuelling. Honestly.

Did we come in after 5, 10, 15 laps ? No. I can't tell you how many laps I did, but I did use around 100 liters with just the short break, and the car would have stayed out for longer.

This is the stuff of dreams ..

Er , no , well I didn't [:D] .......not sure that its going to happen either. The only daft thing I can recall in 40+ years of buying cars is spending my wife's dowry on a rusty 356B S90....in the belief I could put it right in my spare time.
Managed to crash it after 3years of ownership ....sold it as a non runner 10 years later for 6 (six) times what I had paid for it . Gave her the money back [:D] .

I feel I've got one more major crash left in me , have not decided where and when yet , or which car .......hopefully Seans recent instruction will make it happen faster [:)]

John that's a lovely way of putting it.

Since there's always fun to be had in the margins, (those ill defined vaccuuous spaces that beurocracy worries about) --- how can we best exploit this ?

And the mystery car is ? [;)]

Or is this our challenge for next Spa ? [;)][;)]

Will Sean be available to compare notes ? ! [;)][;)][;)]
