I found this vid on YouTube:-

Granted it isn't a 944 but I am sure you will see the parallels. A really solid bit of documentary IMHO.

So what do we conclude? Well, assuming you didn't buy your 944 new, we aren't hammered by depreciation as they are now appreciating :) However, pretty much everything else is comparable.

Hi John,

Pretty neat embedding the YouTube video, how did you do this?

Ralph

I used magic....

Alternatively...

Go to the You Tube video you want to embed, right click over the video and grab the "Copy embed code"

In the forum post editor (full version, not express) click the "Special PGDCode" button (next to attach files). Then use the HTML Code option and paste the link text between bracketed texts.

There is a YouTube option in the list but I couldn't get that to work.

After the 'Rutland' 944 visit to Carconics last year and the owner's comments re cost of owning an AM, that is one Marque that I wouldn't go near no matter how much money I had.....they make every other marque seem very cheap and Carconic's would know....:)

Well,
my S2 Cab has cost around 60p per mile so far over 4 years.

Thats garage bills and parts - no fuel, insurance depreciation (appreciation!) etc. so just what the DB9 man calls scheduled & unscheduled maintenance.

A couple of large jobs in there that I hope not to repeat - new clutch and new belts and rollers that incurred labour costs.

No surprise that depreciation is the major cost. That's why lease deals on new cars seem such good value. (3 out of our 4 cars have minimal or -ve depreciation :) )
