The wrong kind of film club...

Been toeing it around the Cotswold's last couple of days, needed to top the oil up a little as a consequence, and noticed a small amount of the dreaded milky film around the oil filler cap - nothing in the header tank though.

Oil air separatorperhaps?

Also add that it was overall a small amount, and the Wolds had been very damp and misty last couple of mornings.

Thoughts appreciated.

Mine has it as well on the cap and the tube but my Indy said it's perfectly normal especially as I only mainly do small journeys ;-))

We normally advise cleaning it off so you can monitor it, but it's perfectly normal on cars used sporadically and for shorter journeys.

Little bit of condensation created by this cold weather creates it. I'll be scraping mine out today.

Yes, give it a wipe out - do not lose paper tissue down the oil filler - give the engine a nice warm run and see how 'tis then.

Thanks all, it was my suspicion it was more likely condensation related - will wipe out and keep an eye.
