There's life in the old girl yet!

Over 11 1/2 years I owned my 944S2 and never got a pic in PP, I turn to page 17 of the March 2015 edition & there she is outside Ace Cafe!

It would be great to track down the owner of H101 NFX to see how the old girl is going. She had over 193K miles on her when I sold her, which was back in October 2008, so she must be well over 200K by now.

I brought it in January 1997 with less than 59K on the clock and drove 134K miles in those nearly 12 years in my ownership with never a dull trip. Various trips to the South of France, the Vosges, Le Mans, a maximum speed run on the Autobahn (indicated 149mph!), a few laps of the Nurburgring and parade laps at Brands Hatch first time the Club annual event was held there (we got 8 or 9 laps rather the expected 3, due to the pouring rain).

Great memories, so if anybody knows who owns it now, or indeed if the owner is reading this please get in contact.

Can't help with tracking the car down but it's probably worth putting a similar post on the TIPEC forum as well. (Indicated 149mph, eh? I've seen a GPS reading of 145 on my S2 and it felt like there was a bit more to come. And that was with the roof out, so not aerodynamically as good as it could be. Of course that was on the >cough< autobahn as well .... ) Oli.

Nah, it's just good to know it is being used as intended and there is a connection with the club.

I put a similar post in the R20 Forum, as it was at an Ace Cafe regular meeting. I guess I will need to get myself along there sometime & track down the owner.

Did the cheque bounce [:D]

Colin, did you ever tell the Club the car had been sold in 2008? I looked up the current Register database and the car is still listed as within the Club. I can put you in touch with the listed keeper, but I believe you know him pretty well. It's a perfect example of why the new digital project has been so difficult. So much of the old data is out of date and completely useless. At least with the new website you can change things like car details or address yourself.

No, I definitely advised the club of the change of ownership at the time, or certainly on first renewal. Paul, I know you did not mean any harm by it, but I would prefer if my surname was not known on internet forums. I am a member on various other forums and you never know who might be looking at it. Would you mind editing your post accordingly? Thanks Colin

Suddenly the fourth banning doesn't look quite as appealing. Erm, maybe I ought to start behaving a little .... (Where's the smiley for "IDon'tWantToBeRubberGlovedByMcNulters"?) Oli.
