These seem well priced?

Is there any value in having the 1 bar spring rather than the 0.8?
Are Tial a more favoured manufacturer currently since Lindsay Racing seem to be getting a bit of a bashing?

I've personally always preferred the TiAL because it is a new unit, whereas the LR is a rebuilt standard one from Porsche. The problem with the TiAL is you need adaptor plates but this vendor supplies them so problem solved. The LR is a true bolt on.

If you have a 1bar spring you will not be able to go any lower than 1bar boost pressure that's the only difference

Cheers Paul,
Am I right in thinking that higher boost will go faster more quickly but be (even) less subtle?
So 0 to 1 bar sort of instantly rather than 0 to 0.8 and then upwards?

No, the boost will only build as quickly as the turbo is able to spool up.

Both wastegates well stay closed until 0.8 bar and allow the turbo to spool up at the same rate. If your controller allows the 0.8 bar gate to open at 0.8bar then obviously thats when boost will level out, but if you set it to open at 1.0bar it will be virtually identical to the gate with the 1.0bar spring

So the 0.8 is actually more useful as it allows lower boost should you want it (can't imagine why!). The 1 bar spring won't do anything the 0.8 can't right?
I'm trying to get this straight before I commit to buying.
Thanks again
David

One down side with the TiAL is, because of the adaptor plates, they can have a habit of coming loose. I had all manner of problems with mine until my indi dumped the bolts in favour of studs.

I have just fitted a tial on the car. IT is amazing, cannot believe the difference. I bought mine from pauer tuning. Cost me $340 plus $45 postage. then import tax cost me £57 (thieving b**tards). Vic at Pauer tuning is great to deal with, he has also drilled through the bolts so that they can be safety wired to prevent them coming loose.

Getting the old wastegate off is a pretty crappy job when using axle stands like me. Took about 4-5 hrs due to all the bolts snapping and being seized. I got the promax chips for £172 plus a 3 bar fpr for £48. Then got a greddy profec on ebay for £75. All together, a very good upgrade has transformed the car.
