Hi

Took delivery of the big red calipers today....god they are big!!! Will order the discs and pads in the morning. Waiting for the caliper adaptors from the states. I have also got the 993 rears to fit which are currently being powder coated red to match....I know I am sad!!. I am going to remove the bias valve to balance things up. A bit overkill considering the car is never tracked but they do look nice!!!. If anyone is interested I will do a write up on the change over.

Tim,

A write up would make a good "How-to" for the 964uk.com web site. Just e-mail me something to info@964uk.com.

Regards

Dave

999.067.041.09 Caliper to adapter mounting bolts x 4
Front caliper mounting adapter x 2 got mine from the states VCI they are not cheap.
Porsche stickers from ebay for newly coat rear calipers.

I could go with the 928gts front disc which are the exact same as the turbo ones but they are solid instead of drilled. They do seem to cost more than the 965 turbo ones however but I prefer the drilled ones[:D]. Its also worth a note the the 993 N/A rears fit straight on to the existing rear discs if you want to save a few £££. I will probably use the standard ones for abit cause my discs are in good shape. Another point is that the 993turbo front disc hats are about 5mm shorter than the 965t or 928. So if you wanted to use these then you would need a different offset on the mounting bracket. I believe that the caliper would be 5 mm closer to the wheel.

I am using second hand rear calipers due to the cost of new ones although I have stripped them down and will replace the seals/dust covers and bleed nipples when they come back from the coaters. The big reds are brand new as will be the rest of the parts.

not planning on master cylinder upgrade at the moment due to cost. I dont track my car so not sure if its really a big problem at the moment. Later i probably will upgrade.
