Things just keep getting worse..

Started car this morning - heard a very disturbing noise from engine..took a taxi to work just in case..got back home about 30 mins ago and it is now official - one of the timing belt tensioners is on it's way to a better place..so i'll be taking the front end apart tonight and have a serious thinking session - should i just change the belts+tensioners+idlers+?water pump? or would it be a good idea to put a complete donor engine in(it's always practical to have more than 1 944)? Maybe that overheating has caused some damage to engine..just don't know what to do..there's just a bit more than a week to Ragley Hall left..i don't want to be coming there in a rented ford ka..[:'(]

I personally would change all that while I was in there. I realise it's costly but at least then you know it's done.
