Going on an epic Euro drive in June, taking in Germany, Switzerland,South Of France, ending up in Le-Mans. Myself in my 3.2 and two other SC's. I know it's early but what sort of spare bits do you think we should take.

HI ALL

A gorgeous woman with a short skirt.

Everybody will stop and help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great time

To get the ball rolling: a set of bulbs for each car, a clutch cable (for your SC chums to share) a can of tyre inflator.....

Fan belt essential, as it drives the alternator as well!...

plus usual breakdown triangle, fire extinguisher, first aid box...make sure you have
modified the headlights, GB sticker if your number plate hasnt got this.

Last of all but most important for Le Mans....a toilet roll!![:)]

[:D][:D] Like it......better not tell the missus..!!!
Have read that a spare DME relay could be useful (just graduated from SC to the 3.2). Does this fit in the fuse box?

If you are going as far as Italy you will need a reflective vest (we picked one up on the way at a service station for about 5 euros). Also handy anyway (and possibly a requirement in Switzerland?).

Edit:
If you are going in to Switzerland on the motorway you WILL need the money to pay for a motorway toll sticker (it's an annual charge). Last time we bought one it was cash only - at the border!
We have avoided motorways the last couple of times, as we like the mountains rather than the tunnels, but (and it's a big but!) getting through northern Switzerland is no fun - all towns and very slow progress off of the Autoroute - and it's flat and industrial! Next time we're buying the sticker and cutting a day off the journey time...

An E111 as was, try a search on EHIC. This will take you to an online application for the Euro Health Insurance Card, it's free, very quick and easy. Don't forget the usual mobile phone, Leatherman multi-tool and a good torch.
Regards
Ian

Thanks for the tip Mark. Heading into the top of Switzerland and heading down to Geneva. Anyone got any good routes through Switzerland as we will prefer the Mountain routes and avoid the Tunnels (Well maybe take one in so that we can all enjoy our new exhausts[8D]

Make sure the tyre inflator and spare tyre work OK.
Small fire extinguisher.
Mobile phone.
Jump leads
DME relay for the 3.2
Fuel pump relays for the SC's
Fan belt - and tool
Top hose
Jubilee clips
Anti freeze
Oh wait, scratch the last three!
Have a good trip...

Alternator! Mine went on the way to the 'ring last year. Took three days for me to fix as I had to wait for the part. A german garage let me use their tools for a small price which was nice! The wife wasn't too happy about the delayed journey from the 'ring to Reims and then Paris as it was our honeymoon! Anyway, it was pooring with rain whilst fixing the car for three days and then dried up nicely for the 'ring the day I finished the work! Excellent trip enjoy! [:)]

Mark, I to ventured into Switzerland last year, and got accosted at the border, at first I was very p****d off to pay this, as I was staying only for one day (going onto Italy)...but on reflection, it was simular to the toll fees you have to pay EACH time on major autoroutes in France...[]

Don't forget to take some empty space which you can fill up with jolly nice wine as you go round [:)]

With the rear seats folded down, you can fit 7 cases across...Hick![8D]

When we finally take 911 to europe, had better leave the baby at home, what's the penalty for leaving 18 month home alone for a week or two ????
