Gutted, anything above 5500 rpm and im getting a vibration which feels like its being caused by a missfire. When it does it the engine light comes on and flashes for a bit until I ease off then it goes away.

It drives perfectly otherwise which is odd ? Any thoughts ?

Ill be plugging in my diagnostic machine at the weekend (as its though at my parents house) to see what codes have come up but thought I'd post here in the meantime.

Could be a duff plug coil pack or coils, easy replacement, happened to me a few months back.
Symptoms slightly different from yours but this is a likely scenario.

Think it cost me about £100.

Hope that helps

I was thinking that but generally if it were a plug or coil Id have expected it to do it at any RPM and not just high up.

Ill have a look though and guess Ill know more when I pull the fault codes :)

Hopefully its not too serious !

Well, diagnosis is in, as I couldnt wait so borrowed a mates Solus machine, as suspected multiple misfire on 1, 2, 4, 5 but 3 and 6 ok. Further investigation reveals something more sinister though :(

My dual mass flywheel has had it and the vibration its throwing about is causing random faults.

Ordered up the new flywheel today so will be pulling the back end apart at the weekend in the hope theres not any further damage been caused !
