Well heres my experience.....ive just returned yesterday from a 2000+mile trip, from North East England to Plymouth - Santander ferry, then around Spain in 39 C heat.Checking- cleaning over the car today back at home its used no oil / no water / even tyre pressures were same as beginning of trip! Its was an absolute pleasure to drive everyday, roof down for 10 days in Spain, 1 day in rainy England ,it's a 2006 987 Boxster S bought privately 11 months ago,35000 miles, its been perfect everyday ive had it , working perfectly in freezing winter drives and in the 39c of Spain, my advice? BUY ONE ,simple as that, PS having owned both IMHO the 2005 onward 987,s are much better than the pre 05 986 but both are a delight to own, ta folks..........

Couldn't agree more. Just back from a lap of France in 35C heat. Best car to carry luggage for two people for a fortnight, give you wind in what remains of your hair and a great driving experience. In the 10 years I have had the car it has never missed a beat (apart from a flat battery a few years back) and apart from stone chips and paintwork getting a little tired, you wouold never know it's age. Only disappointment to me is that it had a nigh on £50K retail price, when I bought it, and I would now be lucky to get £9K today - guess I just will have to keep it for another 10 years

The 987'S' roadster is one of the best cars Porsche makes - absolutely brilliant, in the true tradition of what has made Porsche sports cars great.

And such good value.

Boxster S early 2001 32,000mls never missed a beat, still on original battery and is a vehicle that just cannot be beaten for reliability/performance and is best £43,000 ever spent. Value now is irrelevant! Get into one!!
