Thinking of changing my 944 alloys for teledial alloys but mine are bigger and wider tyres(225/40r17)teledial are 195/65r15.is this a problem?

I have a 1989 944 i want to replace my alloys for teledial alloys but the wheels and tyres on mine are bigger than the teledial alloys,would this cause a problem? Mine are 225/50r17 and the teledials are 195/65r15.would it handle different?
