Thinking of Selling Mint Boxster.

Hi Guys

Thought i would give the folks here first shot. Im thinking of selling my 1999 2.5 boxster and thought what price i should ask?.

This is really an outstnding car - its had 1 previous mature owner in his 40's who bought it brand new from OPC Solihull - its only done 16k and was used as a 3rd car only. It has had all its 12 month services from OPC with stamps and prints verifiyng mileage as it never did enough for the regular service intevals. Averaging 3k per anum.

All original receipts and invoices from OPC including original Sales recepit!. When i bought it i had an Independant Porcsche report done - with invoices. -

Spec as follows -

1999 T 2.5 manual - 16k with OPSH
Ocean Blue / Grey lthr
HARDTOP
Clear Lights upgrade all round
Sports Pack - Sports Suspension - Traction Control ( this is why the guy drove it so little - it gave him back ache!)
CDR22 single slot - Plus 6 cd changer
Tracker
Gold crested Centers - 17" turbo wheels
Wind deflector

The interior/ exterior is impeccable - and brand new - not a scratch and the seats have no leather cracks, the carpets are still fluffy and the car is as you would drive it from a showroom, I have just been allocated a company car allowance and have taken the money option - i have added to it and will be buying a 966 c4 tip on lease - company picks up the tab with the allowance!!!!, this money will go to house renovations .

Its going into the trader in 2 weeks just gona check out prices, but you cannot find another as genuine as this - is basically brand new, any inspection, and you can go to any OPC with the reg and they will confirm delivery date, milleage , serviceing etc on their computer.

what should i price it at ?????

Well advertise it here

911 and Porsche World Photoshoot

Thursday or Friday, June 3rd or 4th.

Just to recap, besides getting their car in 911 & Porsche World, the owner
will get some professionally shot pictures.

The car has to be an early 2.5, and manual.

Helen, that response is a bit naughty I feel. There may well be other communities out there but why actively push them on this forum?

Naughty or not, and yes there are other sites, but Boxa.net has by far the greatest hit rate, and I wouldn't be surprised if its greater than searches for 'Boxster' on Autotrader.

At the end of the day its just giving advice on where best to place the ad.

There are numerous members on here who post 10 to 100 times as many posts elsewhere.

But restored by me (and edited) as there is a bug in the software that means I can't see the last post in the thread if one is deleted by the user!
...Which is awkward when you are the moderator!

Mark why bring it back again? now you've just drawn attention to the my message which i deleted as all it said was boxa. net if a free to use forum.. i thought this might be taking the message a bit far.... but if you insist

sam, when you decide on your price let me know at jason@mortgage1.fsnet.co.uk

I totally disagree with this, why see boxa.net as a "rival" community - many of the most active members here are also very active on boxa.net (myself included). In fact, my PCGB region has definitely benefited from boxa.net bringing members to the club, and people on boxa.net are not afraid to publicise PCGB events etc. I personally continually encourage members over there to join PCGB and happily write-up reports of great days out had at PCGB events (and vice-versa, look at the "crail" posts in the scotland section - a fantastic day out organised by boxa.net and attended by a PCGB ro, PCGB ex-ro, and a PCGB director + many PCGB members.

The original post asked for information, sorry, but that is the place to get it. There are a few very knowledgeable people here (Mark, JCB, Nic etc), but there are also many on boxa.net - why not get the fullest audience possible.

I'm afraid this "them vs us" feeling is given off continually from this board - why aren't we one larger community of boxster owners - unfortunately when "them vs us" is given off, many people are choosing "them" and it isn't a good thing either for the PCGB or people like myself who are actively trying to cross-pollenate between the two.

Hi SAM1,

May have missed the boat here but, like one of the other responses, I may also be interested in this car. Please email me on dave@houseteq.com

Regards,

Dave.

Couldn't agree more Greig. There should be no competition. We should do all we can to create an inclusive realtionship with our brethren Clubs.

It's on the "to do" list for my tenure.

Sam

I have done a searchand the "book price" is as follows:

Below Average - £18,400.00
Average - £19,400.00
Clean - £20,200.00

These are trade values and may vary for private sale.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Phil

Thanks for all your input, didnt want to start an argument. I will e-mail those who have shown an intrest, like i say this car is as new, so the price will reflect this - but i do love the car and at the moment as the company is paying for the new car and the mileage is so low , i think i can get away with giving it to the missus for a year to drive and it wont still have done 21k miles by next year and can still sell. anyway - i can mail pics if intrested. many thanks - P.S. - no one is getting it a trade Prices!!! ( if you can find me another like it for book price GET ME 2 !!![:)]

Sam1....I think £20,200 is way off. For example Charles Ivey is offering 2 2.5 Boxters. A '99 model with 39k on the clock, it does have climate control (which is very important imo) and full leather, but doesnt have the hardtop, clear lights upgrade all round
Sports Pack - Sports Suspension - Traction Control package you have.. They are asing £25k. The oter model they have is a 97 2.5 with very big spec and only 15k on the clock, advertised as £poa..I'd asume that meant more than £25k..

So if I were you I'd be asking 23k or so.

Thanks for all your help , i was looking at around 23k anyway - as i have seen autotrader and 97/98 's are going for 21k, this one is a one off , with the hardtop - the lights the sports pack etc and the big plus of the very low mileage etc i think 23k is a very good price. There are alot of boxsters out there , but if somebody is looking to buy one for the first time , this is as if it was from a showroom, also when i bought it i had it up on a ramp - it was Bone dry under there, and still had the Wax oil on that they put on when they build them - i cant say anymore. thanks guys

If it's any help I bought an 'S' reg arctic silver boxster in January privately with only 9K miles on the clock with climate, full boxster red leather etc. Never taken out in the winter always kept in de-humidified garage and with a very nice single digit BOX reg. The car looks totally as good as new & I paid £23.5K for the car c/w the reg. number.
It also includes all paperwork incl. the original invoice.

Thanks for all your Input - yep i think 23 k is a fair price - its a late 99 T with 15389 miles on the clock - it has the HARDTOP, and all the lights have only just been done at a cost of £800 all round, i have pics of it but do not know how to put them on this forum - any help?
