I'd always read it as "THE Marque" - but maybe I'm just biased. Since it's specific to the 964, I'd always chosen to see it as a subtle way of identiying the 964 as the pinnacle of the Porsche family. There are lots of reasons why it is - and I'm sure there are lots of (non-964) owners who might think it's not!!

I have often wondered why the 964 forum had "The Marque..."as its description, I just thought the rest of the sentence was missing. we could have a competition to say what it could be.
Starters. "The Marque of Porsche has many fine model lines in its history including the 964"

No doubt about it - the 964 is the roadgoing car which best enshrines all the 911 and therefore Porsche principles and standards - anything else is too noisy, smelly and dirty (and old) or too wussy or watercooled
