The pavements are splitting in the heat and the weekend looks to be a stunner so come along and enjoy a fantastic day out at the R7 annual Concours from 10.00 at Harewood House near Leeds.

This is always a top day out with around 400 - 500 Porshces parked up in front of the main house plus displays from our main sponsors Strasse and Specialist Cars of Malton. Strasse will be serving food and drinks in their marquee in return for charitable donations, this year supporting childrens Eczema charities.

In addition to both Strasse and Specialist Cars having parts for sale their will be a number of local craft and trade stands plus local Jazz band Three Men and A Bass.

This year's concours competition is set to be tight with some very nice examples entered in both original and modified classes. There will also be a visitors class for non R7 members in addition to the 928 Register's competition. We will also have a display of cars representing the 50 years since the Porsche Club was formed.

Should the kids get bored of the cars, Harewood boasts and fantastic children's adventure play ground, bird garden and pleasant walks. Entrance to Harewood is only £7.50 per person, so come along and say hello.

Hi Mark

Will my car be needed for the 50 year pageant or are overwhelmed with 964's? If it is what are the arrangements?

PS The entrance for those of a certain age (ie old gimmers) is £6.50!!

Hi Ian,

I am having problems with my forum account so I may be talking in a ladies voice for a while. I am indeed inundated with 964s and several of them cabs. I thought I had emailed you about it but clearly not, doh! If my expected car doesn't turn up I will come and find you.

Let's hope it is hot enough for said old gimmers to take their jumpers and over coats off [&:]

Hi Ian

I'm taking mine on Sunday so maybe we can catch up and check each others car out.

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone the came along today, all those that came and displayed their cars, entered the Concours or just parked up to make the show.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to the people below who made our life so easy in the last two days putting up, taking down, parking, judging and putting cars in place.

Richard Hunter,
John Ward,
Geoff Benson,
Rob,
Doug and Marlies Sudron,
Randolph Coward,
Vic Lord,
Stuart Jackson (Gmund),
Craig Greaves (JCT 600)

Strasse and Specialist Cars put on a great show, along with tractors from various sources, so thanks to Peter for bringing them together. Once again Lindsey cajoooled her ladies and the Strasse team into putting together the Strasse Marque.

Well done everyone, I think we can feel proud that we showed Yorkshire and our Club in a fantastic light.

We are now going to have a beer and chill until the next event.

All credit to you both for organising a fantastic event - even the weather was on side! We really enjoyed being part of the day, fabulous to see so many of Germany's finest lined up for all to see, what a sight.

PM me your address and I'll post a memory stick with the photos by the end of the week (or could drop it over, any excuse for a ride out!).

See you soon.

Mike & Lisa

PS Is it too late to put our names down for the Fathers Day event at Harewood? I think we have missed the deadline so totally understand if it is.

We really enjoyed today - it was great to catch up with everybody without the pressure of running the event or judging concours cars!

Thanks and well done to everybody who helped to make it happen.

Ian and Sharon

We would like to mirror the previous comments. Great day out and, thankfully, the sun eventually came out for the afternoon. Jane and I enjoyed the day (a chance to air her new Boxster!). Daniel and Jane's mum also had a great day, and the House provided an excellent backdrop, along with afternoon tea and the impressive bird garden, fantastic R7 meet. Well done for all who helped organise. Can't wait for the Father's Day Classic, hope it's as good as today's event. Thank you. John, Jane & Daniel

Well done to all in the Yorkshire region on a great show with some fantastic cars and a great turnout. Hope to see you all at the North East annual event on the 18th September at Raby castle.

Yet another great show at Harewood, well done to all at R7 for putting on a brilliant day.
Thanks for the great hospitality shown to all our R3 members.
Congratulations to Tony for his and his daughters very fine 944 Turbo, a well deserved 1st place.
Thanks again Greg

I echo all of the above comments. We really enjoyed the day. Had to drive carefully on the way home due to Michael having consumed four bottles of strong lager. He is usually t- total so it was a bit of a shock to his system. Dont know what his new kidney thought about it but thankfully it seemed to cope okay!!! Nail varnish was succesfully removed last night much to his relief.

Thanks to all for a great day.

Chris, Linda and boozy Michael

Once again !
A big thank you to Dave , Lindsay , Mark , Carol and all the guys who came along to make this such a special event ! well done again !!

John Mark and all at specialist cars of malton !

Just like to add my congratulations to you Mark & Carol, for organising a wonderful day at Harewood, clearly a tremendous amount of work went into it, and with the wonderful support of Strasse and Specialist Cars of Malton, we were all the beneficiaries of that work.

Well done.

Geoff & Julia

That one has always grated with me too. From the shows perspective we get very little or no choice in dates, this year it was that Sunday or not at all. In my ideal world I would move the Hill Climb into the Harewood grounds, should only require a small amount of earth works to achieve the desired result, then hey presto free motorsport to go with cars in the sun.

Hi Mark & carol
Well done, great day out, since becoming involved with the club (R7), it just gets better and better looking forward to the 19th next.
