Thoughts on replacement tyres for a Turbo S

Hello All,
For a Turbo S, for Road use, does anyone think there are better tyres than the (Porsche supplied) Goodyear tyres?

I need new tyres so could either buy the same again or change to another make.

Thanks in advance of the views of others (preferably those who have ran a 992 Turbo / Turbo S).

Stephen.

I started a similar discussion here. You may care to take a look.

Available NA rated tyres for Turbo S sadly are restricted.

Michelin can only offer their PS Cup 2 - a rather focussed offering - possibly not the best for all round motoring. Mine came on Pirelli P-Zero as OEM equipment, sizes 255/35 ZR20 (93Y) and 315/30 ZR21 (105Y) NA1 rated. I will probably replace them with the same since they have served me well, have good overall performance in most weathers and an acceptable wear rate. The only alternative I could find is the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport that presumably you already have.

Michelin has recently launched its PS5, but so far not in TTS sizes or NA rating. It may be intending to produce suitable tyres later and you could trying enquiring from its CS department. [;)]

Clive

Following on from my previous post, Michelin has confirmed it does not currently have Pilot Sport 5 in the required sizes and markings for Turbo S and has no information whether it will fabricate them in future. []

So nothing much likely to be forthcoming there in the foreseeable future.

Clive

Thanks for the info Clive.

Yes, I have the Goodyear tyres at present which seem ok.

I suppose the lack of choice makes the decision quite straightforward and I think like you I will stick with what I have.
